[WAMP Stack 7.4.13-0] How to upgrade PHP to 8.3? #1793
Comments
Hi @David263 Thanks for using Bitnami. Unfortunately, we no longer provide support for native installers. We dropped support some time ago to focus on our cloud native solutions (GH issue). Regarding your current installation, it is also not possible to update the base components of it, so you would need to use a different solution for it. We recommend you to use our container for PHP, which you can find at https://github.com/bitnami/containers/tree/main/bitnami/php-fpm |
That is not acceptable. Docker Desktop for Windows requires at least 4
GB of disk space. That is a good percentage of my current development
disk free space.
Thanks anyway. It's the end of the line, I guess, for WAMP environments.

@David263 you may try other Docker solutions like podman in case it meets your needs. |
Describe your issue as much as you can
I use and rely on Bitnami WAMP Stack 7.4.13-0 on a daily basis to run PHP programs. But I don't see it in your list of documentation. I need to upgrade PHP but don't see any obvious path forward. Is there a new version WAMP that I can install? Or do I need to upgrade just PHP manually? If the latter, will upgrading manually fail due to WAMP dependencies? I'm very afraid of making a mistake and getting stuck, as I have no idea how WAMP works internally.
Or do I need to find another WAMP-like product that offers easy installation of PHP 8.2? and MySQL?
