Done with this command:
find . -not \( -name .svn -prune -o -name .git -prune -o -name link-unshorten -prune \) -type f | xargs -I{} sed -i '$a\' {}
NOTE: this is using GNU sed, not the built-in sed that comes with OS X.

Notably I had to rerun the commands to remove trailing whitespace after rebasing these changes onto your master.
