Can not install patch files or uninstall patch files after a fail attempt #9
Comments
I've never tried running it on monterey. It might not support running "sudo" GUI apps. Try running it from 10.15 or 11. |
I applied this patch in Monterey a lot of times. But last time I got the same issue. Here is a dump after flashing error. I re-flashed IC thru ch341a_spi with someone's intel firmware dump from hac-mini GitHub conversations, but after that I was unable to apply TB patch again. Thunderbolt worked on windows, but Patch Gui told something like "this firmware looks weird, can't resume". |
It does support running sudo and it asks for password. |
@ivan-ef what firmware did you flash to get windows to recognize the controller again? I can't get the script to flash or uninstall in OSX Catalina and my win10 install no longer detects the thunderbolt controller either. Looks like some surgery is in my future! |
I found someone's else firmware. Search for it in hac-mini GitHub conversations. |
@ivan-ef ouch, I was hoping I could clip onto it with an external programmer and re flash. |
@osy thanks for the sanity check! |
When I installed the patch files for the first time, I found that the program was running for a long time, so I quickly stopped the program. But after that I can not install patch files or uninstall patch files after a fail attempt, I even found that I cannot start my Windows operating system. After endless attempts, I found that as long as I set Thunderbolt 3 to legacy mode, I can successfully enter the windows operating system.
