Issues used to show the number of comments in the issue at the top. (For mobile they never did although there was a jump to bottom button.) This feature was removed recently. I noticed it immediately but thought it would soon be added back. However it has been some time now and still hasn't been added back. I'm creating this issue to let the developers know that people care about this feature. It allows you to see if someone has responded to an issue much more quickly than scrolling to the bottom of the page. The number of comments is already shown in the all issues page ie. github.com/test/issues but not in the issue itself ie. github.com/test/issues/1
Also note that both PRs and discussions have comment counts. For PRs they are at the top. For discussions they appear after the first post.
