Unable to pick emoji suggestion in mobile website

I often try to include an emoji in a comment of an issue by partially typing the textual representation of it (e.g. :smi) and choosing the emoji from the suggestion. In recent times, I'm not able to do it. I'm shown the emoji suggestion but I'm not able to select. When I click on it the text pattern corresponding to that emoji is kot inserted as it should. I just leaves the comment as-is.
