Hi everyone,
I'm a high school student from China who found a problem submitting github education. To be specific, name problem.
I got my request rejected as "Please ensure that your academic affiliation document contains your first/last name exactly as it appears in your GitHub billing information."
Problem is with the billing information. A typical Chinese name, like mine, doesn't really divide into a first name and a last name.
So people usually fill their family name, like
one called 陈一 will enter 陈 into the "last name" section, and their own name 一 into the first name section (This is only an example name)
Problem is that github rufuses a person to only enter 1 utf-8 character into either section. He will simply be unable to press the "submit" button.
People then usually use Pinyin(汉语拼音) name instead, like "Chen Yi".
Problem is that this is against the rule "your full name exactly as it appears in your academic affiliation document. Please do not use a variation of your name or a nickname." as his file will only writes "陈一" on it.
Another solution, which I was suggested in the mail is that to fill my full name in both the sections, which is "陈一" in both first and last name section.
Problem is that I've already tried that and it didn't work, and led to the message above I got.
