There is a built-in way to do this in Windows. Press ⊞ Win+V, which will open up your recent Clipboard History:
You can click on an entry in the list to paste it immediately. Use the pin icon next to a favourite to ensure it doesn't expire. It works with text and images alike.
If you want to setup a keyboard macro to paste certain text when you press a shortcut (say Ctrl+D to paste in your name and address), then the Keyboard Manager PowerToy can help.
it works but what i was thinking of is something like this!
i have two drive links pinned, but I have tough time to find which link is for what! so I was thinking if there could a rename/alias option so I can quickly copy that text instead of opening and seeing everytime
I thought it would be cool in power toys because, it had advanced paste and if it can have advanced copy as well, it would be awesome!
Ah, I think I understand. So you'd like to be able to set phrases which are automatically expanded into the full text? So you'd type something like "cvlink", and it would expand into the full URL for your resume or similar?
If so, this has been suggested a few times previously:
Description of the new feature / enhancement
It would be cool if there was an option to favourite certain text, so that I can use that as macros whenever needed!
Scenario when this would be used?
While applying for Jobs or while coding as a autofill option
