It seems like an issue with your text editor. Which editor are you using? |

The text editor is not the issue. I want to have a character limit on all my code lines, so would be grateful for a solution that enables that. |

Correct me if I get it wrong. The texts appear properly on your website. You simply just want to configure your text editor to wrap texts, right?

No, I do not want to configure one text editor. I want it to display nicely wherever I edit it, incl. github. So I wanted to find a way to break lines rather than configure a text editor. But if that is not possible to achieve I understand and will just need to live with it. :) |

Description
When adding footnotes and image description text to markdown of the posts, I can not find a way to wrap the text in my markdown. While the text is rendered correctly in the website, it complicates editing of the markdown. Is there a way to wrap markdown text for images and footnotes?
See here for an example of the long lines.

Operations you have already tried
I tried breaking the lines, but that corrupts the footnote/image description.
Anything else?
