In some cases there are PNG files which act as quicklooks for the data files:
data.ceda.ac.uk/neodc/esacci/sea_level/data/IND/v2.0/MSL/ESACCI-SEALEVEL-IND-MSL-MERGED-20161202000000-fv02.nc

Look at the feasibility of including these quicklooks as atom:link rel=”icon” in the opensearch response.

I think this needs a bit of a re-work around the structure of the granules so they can be decoupled from files. That would allow the indexing process to pick up when there is an image file with the same name and assign it as an icon or quicklook.

this links in with the search futures work, so will probably need to wait for that to make a start.
