The underlying structure extends the general philosophy of [libigl](http://libigl.github.io/libigl/): the library is header only, where each header contains a set of functions closely related (for instance, the precomputation and computation of some directional quantity over a mesh). For the most part, one header contains only one function. The data structures are, for the most part, simple matrices in [Eigen](http://eigen.tuxfamily.org/index.php?title=Main_Page), and the library avoids complicated and nested structures, relying instead on standalone functions. The visualization is done through a specialized class ```DirectionalViewer```, on the basis of [libigl](http://libigl.github.io/libigl/) viewer, with many extended options that allow the rendering of directional fields.
