Talon1024 has kindly done a shader to emulate this effect here: https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=340&t=67461#p1196002

Would be good if we could test, personally not sure how to load it in.

You can just copy and paste the shader code into ShaderToy to test it. I apologize about all the #defines, #ifdefs, and #endifs, but that was to get it working on GLSLViewer as well.

On ShaderToy, you will need to assign a texture to iChannel0, and then you can click and drag the mouse around on the preview to play with the effect rotation.
